Q — Lauren, how do you like to be referred as — a stripper, a dancer, an exotic dancer? Do you take offense to the term stripper?
A — I don’t take offense to it, cause I’m used to it. I realize that most people are gonna call us that, but, I’d like to be considered either exotic entertainer, or an adult entertainer, or showgirl. Showgirl is one of my favorites, cause I feel I put on a pretty good show.

Q — And Showgirl sounds so glamorous!
A — Yeah.

Q — How did you get started in the business?
A — Actually, I got started performing costumed acts in Gay Clubs. Then I found out about a pageant held by Exotic Dancer magazine called miss Exotic Michigan, and I entered. Then I found out about the Adult Exotic Entertainment Industry — Featuring. So, I was already kind of featuring locally in the Gay Clubs with the costumes. When I found out about that, I just kind of took it on the road and made it by career instead of my hobby.

Q — What were you doing before dancing?
A — I was doing real estate appraisal.

Q — That’s kind of a big jump isn’t it, from appraising to dancing?
A — No. Before I was doing real estate appraisal I was house dancing. I had house danced for years.

Q — From what age?
A — 19.

Q — In Michigan?
A — Yeah.

Q — How did you get into house dancing?
A — I was waitressing at a Deja Vu and it took me 3 months before I got onstage.

Q — So, you were a little scared about going onstage that first time?
A — I hadn’t considered it when I started the waitressing, but, then I got used to the idea while working, there.

Q — Was it difficult?
A — I was a little nervous, but, I think I enjoyed it.

Q — Is it still nerve-racking now that you’re a seasoned pro?
A — Oh, I have fun with it. I have fun.

Q — Why do you think there’s always this interest in women who go onstage and take their clothes off?
A — I think it stems back from the old Burlesque times. It’s the original form of showing yourself off. Plus, I think women who do it expect a certain amount of adoration, for doing it.

Q — Its it a profitable business?
A — It can be, depending on how you market yourself, and how you converse with people.

Q — You’re entertaining the thought of making Adult movies? Someone is trying to convince you to do that are they?
A — They’re not trying to convince me of anything. I’m introducing myself to them (wicked Studios).

Q — Why do you feel the need to do that?
A — More money. Credits.

Q — And, having a movie out will draw more people out to your personal appearances?
A — Sure. You got it.

Q — Why not try to enter the mainstream film business? Why not try to get an agent at I.C.M. (International Creative management) or The William Morris Agency?
A — I’m sure I could do that, but, I’ve already established myself in this career. It’s just kind of a natural advancement, with this particular career. I mean if I was just desiring to act from the very beginning then, that’s what I should’ve done 5 years ago, I guess. I probably could do it also. There’s lot of other Porn girls that also work in the mainstream acting business.

Q — You’re referring to actresses like Tracy Lords and Ginger Lynn.
A — Yeah.

Q — Your idol would be who — Gypsy Rose Lee
A — She’s one of ’em Madonna.

Q — What’s the significance of placing underwater photos of yourself on your website?
A — I’ve done underwater erotic videos. That’s how I got on HBO’s Real Sex Show.

Q — How long do you think you’ll keep dancing?
A — I have no idea.

Q — You haven’t set any time table for yourself?
A — Nope. Sure haven’t.
